The zucchini is a long, cylindrical vegetable, slightly smaller at the stem end. They range from light green to very dark green (almost black) in color and can even have stripes. The flesh is a pale greenish-white and has a delicate, almost sweet flavor. Zucchini can grow to be over a foot, but are harvested at different sizes around the world.
